Rowan-Virtua SOM Dept of Psychiatry Seeks Psychiatrists for Four NJ State Psychiatric Hospitals

Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine is currently seeking board-eligible/board-certified Psychiatrists to join a dynamic academic Department of Psychiatry to serve at the 4 New Jersey State Psychiatric Hospitals. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team. Opportunities to teach the next generation of leaders in the medical field are a part of this position. In support of Rowan Medicine's mission and vision, the selected candidate will provide psychiatric services on the grounds of Ancora State Psychiatric Hospital located in Hammonton, New Jersey. (Additional roles will also be coming at the other state psychiatric hospitals including Trenton Psychiatric Hospital, Anne Klein, and Greystone Park.) This role will work closely with the clinical staff for the day-to-day treatment of patients as well as in an academic capacity to teach medical students, residents, and allied health professionals. This position is available for academic promotion within the University.

Located in charming Hammonton, NJ, Ancora State Psychiatric Hospital is nestled on 650 wooded acres and surrounded by beautiful open land. The candidate must hold the following:

  • Valid NJ medical license
  • MD/DO
  • CDS license
  • DEA license

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, AAUP Faculty Salary range information is below:

Total salary range: $254,732.72 to $290,497.46 

The annual salary range is composed of two components: 1. Base salary within a range determined by the AAUP collective bargaining agreement and 2. Supplemental salary based on regional benchmarking standards and internal equity by specialty.


*Placement within the range is determined by the candidate's qualifications, professional experience, and other factors.
